Maple Crest Farms
Est. 1970
We are a family farm established in 1970, located in Elkhart, Indiana, raising crops, cattle, and our kids….
On a cold January day in 1970, Dave and Alicia moved to Maple Crest Farms, south of Elkhart with only a little in their pockets, but a big dream to farm. Early on Dave and Alicia expanded both the farm and their family with 3 children, Heather, Alex & Dan. The dairy herd grew to 150 cows and 150 replacement heifers over the next 4 decades. As the herd increased, the acreage for feed grew to 900 acres including corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa. In 2001, custom forage harvesting for other dairy farms was added to the operation. In 2007, the milking herd was sold and the facilities were used to raise replacement heifers for other dairy farms. Ten years later the farm transitioned to raising cattle for beef production to combat a volatile dairy market. The heritage that was started 50 years ago continues now into the third generation, raising cattle, crops, and alfalfa.
